Scuba Course

Interested in learning SCUBA diving? Scouts ACT run regular PADI SCUBA courses and our next opportunities are at the end of February and March! There is a bit of e learning (about 6-8 hours) ahead of the course, followed by a 4-5 hour pool session and then 4 dives at the coast).

Course 1:

Saturday 15 February - gear up and pool session (Fadden Pines Scout Hall and Tuggeranong Pool)

Sat-Sun 22-23 February based out of Moruya (with following weekend backup in case of bad weather)

Course 2

Saturday 22 March - gear up and pool session (Fadden Pines Scout Hall and Tuggeranong Pool) 

Sat-Sun 29-30 March based out of Shellharbour (with following weekend backup in case of bad weather)

Cost: $650, including all equipment, e-learning, catering and accommodation.

As a guide, ages 13+. We can accommodate around 8 students on any course, though usually run smaller groups giving you more time to develop the skills and more opportunity to explore the dive sites after the skills have been demonstrated.

The courses are run at the branch level which means individuals from groups can attend, or small cohorts from scouting groups can attend. The attached document gives a bit more of an idea about what is involved. Parent helpers are very welcome in assisting with arrangements over the weekend (transport, catering, carpooling etc.).

We will also be undertaking "general" fun dives on those weekends, and at the end of each month through till August. Fun dives are an opportunity for certified divers to practice skills, and explore the underwater environment.
